Venues
at Saturdays planning meeting I was told that Istabraq as a venue for NF1,is definitely a no go for anyone as they are not planning on using it as a venue space (maybe exhibition space) due to logistics for centaur
the betting hall is fine for NF2 though 'they' suggested on several occasions that NF1 might want to use it!
there has been a couple of suggestions by site ops for a venue for NF1 and it is all v tentative and nothing is confirmed
1. The dawn run stand (this is up the centaur end of the site and a separate new building with a glass front - ask if you need more detail!) now this is very tentative as there are delicate negotiations with the caravan club who manage the land it sits on but potentially GB are going to use those rooms (last year they were used for rehearsals) we were not able to see inside it and we do not know when the decision will be made
2. Festival suite and National Hunt room - these rooms can be made into one and I am waiting to hear from site the capacity and size etc but not a great shape and in quite a difficult location to find - I have photos so when worked out how to put them up will let you see

gayle thanks for visiting the site. it's good to get clarity about istabraq. i think we can keep our options open on the dawn run - if it becomes viable we'll have to visit and have a look...
my memory of the rooms in the grandstand are that they will be smaller than foxhunter. so i think if the dawn run doesn't happen we are back with foxhunter unless we can use gold cup.
there's a theory around that the cabaret needs a bigger venue but that could easily be moved to a big top. (my own personal view on the cabaret is that it is tired and needs an overhaul - but that's not our area of proagramme!). foxhunter would then work fine as a seminar venue...
